Leases

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Real estate agents are not attorneys and cannot offer legal services, draft rider language, or edit leases. Agents are only permitted to modify a lease by following the instructions outlined within the lease documents, such as filling in blanks or crossing out inapplicable sections as directed. Should a landlord or tenant require further modifications to a lease or need a rider drafted, they must be instructed to consult their legal representatives. Real estate agents do not have the legal authority to draft or modify lease documents. When preparing a lease for a landlord or tenant, a real estate agent must advise the landlord or tenant to thoroughly review the lease with their attorney before signing.
